Not only have we created Undiscovered: The Quest for Adventure, but we have also designed a world setting in which you can play. A part of the world setting is included in the core rulebook: the origins of the world and of the gods themselves, the birth and development of an empire, the creation of major cities, and the making of a few heroes. The description also includes a world map, an empire map (including regions surrounding the empire), and a map of the capital city in the empire. We have also provided you with a calender and time system.

The empire is described in detail, adding points of interest throughout the empire and giving some explanations as to its surrounding regions. Further detail is provided concerning the capital city and the goings on within the city.

As time passes, we will add maps and pictures to our membership program to bring the world of Arkas alive to all those who participate in Undiscovered: The Quest for Adventure.

For a brief overview...

The beginning of recorded time starts with the creation of three gods: Xan, Druxa, and Koyltehtil. Xan is the god associated with all things magical, and is the creator of the seraphs. Druxa is the goddess associated with calm and order, and is the creator of the angelions. Koyltehtil is the god associated with chaos and power, and is the creator of the demons.

However, through the ages, these three original beings were destroyed, dispersed, and vanquished. Their positions were taken over by their followers: the seraphs, angelions, and demons. The gods that currently rule over Arkas are:

  • Achelous - God of streams, rivers and waterways, oceans, and all water-faring creatures.
  • Actaeon - God of guardians, protection, honour, courage, loyalty, duty, and vigilance.
  • Arla - God of justice and truth.
  • Borack - God of wild beasts, forests, and flora.
  • Cryosin - God of craftsmen and artificers.
  • Dinar - God of money, trade, and bartering.
  • Eos - Goddess of the dawn and birth.
  • Eris - Goddess of chaos, murder, assassination, hatred, vengeance, and madness.
  • Gwydion - God of knowledge, history, lore, and the arts.
  • Helios - God of the sun and agriculture.
  • Iblis - God of pain, loss, healing, and resilience.
  • Kala - Goddess of life, healing, and resilience.
  • Luna - Goddess of navigation and the heavens, and lycanthropy.
  • Luxing - Goddess of luck and fortune.
  • Neandra - Goddess of peace.
  • Noelle - Goddess of love, pleasure, delight, marriage, happiness, and festivals.
  • Nyx - God of shadows and the night.
  • Perenu - Goddess of nature and weather.
  • Slather - God of secrets, illusions, deception, deceit, and the unknown.
  • Terregor - God of war and destruction.
  • Zale - God of death, disease, plague, pestilence, and famine.
  • Besides those gods listed above, there are a few patron gods of some of the races. These include:

  • Bergerost - Patron god of all muklags.
  • Braachken - Patron god of all dwarves.
  • Dramavire - Patron goddess of good dragons.
  • Duslavine - Patron god of all dusters.
  • Eilfin - Patron god of wood elves and star elves.
  • Liath - Patron goddess of ice elves.

There is another god not mentioned above, who is the father of all gods: Kronos. He is worshipped by many, but does not directly interfere with the world, as the other gods do.

The seraphs who were not destroyed and who did not attain the rank of a god or goddess became earth-bound creatures. They are now available for players to use as an adventuring character.

There is currently no knowledge of angelions who were not destroyed and who did not attain the rank of a god or goddess.

The majority of demons who were not destroyed and who did not attain the rank of god or goddess were expelled into another world along with their master, Koyltehtil. The world they live on is a lost world of shadows and is not connected to the world of Arkas.
